iPhone users already had several softwares or solutions in doing copy and paste, but seems most of them have a few drawbacks: all the text you copy and paste get sent over the Internet (iCopy), works only within the app – so there is no cross-app copy and pasting (MagicPad) or it works only with the jailbroken iPhones (Clippy).
But now, there’s “a very promising bookmarklet that allows iPhone users to copy and paste Web content to an email with two clicks,” as ReadWriteWeb wrote. “The bookmarklet, while still fragile, works very well. It does a great job of capturing the text.”
Kent Bewster, its creator, explained:
- Bring up Safari on your iPhone, go to the page you want to copy from, and click the little book-shaped thingie in the bottom bar. Either your History or Bookmarks bar will probably come up; you want Bookmarks, and then Bookmarks Bar.
- Click your iClipper bookmark, and then tap whatever you want to copy.
- If all goes well, your e-mail client will pop up with a message filled in. The subject line will be the title of the page you’re on right now; the body will be the text contents of whatever you tapped on the page.
- From here you can send the contents wherever you want, or simply save as a draft. Presto, copy and paste.
I haven’t tried it, but once you’ve installed and used it, let us know your experience on this.

After Apple executive Tim Cook hinted about thinly-veiled threats of legal action over similarities between the Palm Pre and the iPhone, like multitouch and touchscreen gesture technology, Palm has just sent a clear message:

“Palm has a long history of innovation that is reflected in our products and robust patent portfolio, and we have long been recognized for our fundamental patents in the mobile space. If faced with legal action, we are confident that we have the tools necessary to defend ourselves” Lynn Fox, spokesperson, Palm.
Yeah, the story continues…

Looks pretty and useful. This is an iPhone app, called Home Barista, designated for coffee drinker. It’s available now on the iPhone App Store for $2.99.
According to its developer:
It’s called ‘Home Barista’. It’s basically like a ‘Missing manual’ (sorry Pogue) for home espresso machines. Plus on iPhones you can take shots of your work and they are categorised into galleries based on coffee type. Hope you like it.

How useful is it? If you have a chance to use this app, let us know your experience – please leave your comment right here.

It’s another application which helps us to have copy/paste function on the iPhone. The similar app called MagicPad, which has hit the App Store August last year, can only copy and paste text from within the app. But now, an app called Clippy, which has no problem with cross-app copy and pasting, but unfortunately it works only with the jailbroken iPhones!

“After installing the application, type any text you want and simply hit the “123? button on your keyboard to show the copy/paste buttons. Tap “copy” and start selecting the text you want to copy. Tap “copy” again to end the selection. Then tap “paste” to paste this text where you want it to be.” This implementation isn’t up to Apple’s standards for grace and ease, but it seems workable.
