The location-aware, mobile social network application GyPSii has launched its free iPhone application [iTunes link] today. It allows users to create and share “geotagged” content in real time with friends.

GyPSii delivers an all-in-one mobile social networking experience. It allows people to instantly capture and share what they are actually doing, building a multi-media virtual diary on their world – the places they have been and the things that they have done.
GyPSii users can automatically update their status across other social networks such as Twitter and Facebook via the GyPSii Connect service.
The launch of our iPhone app, according to Shane Lennon, SVP Product Management and Marketing at GyPSii, also marks the launch of the company’s next generation of user experience (UX).
The GyPSii iPhone application is currently available in English and Chinese.

A free Elvis application [iTunes link] is now available for iPhone owners. Elvis Presley Enterprises announced it was releasing an iPhone app which allow fans to view newly released pictures and videos, listen to podcasts from Elvis Radio and live images from a camera at his longtime Memphis, Tennessee, residence, Graceland.
According to Scott Williams, vice president of marketing for Elvis Presley Enterprises, Elvis always believed in embracing new technology. “This new Elvis Mobile application is another unique way to continue Elvis’ legacy.”
“Elvis would have been the first person to buy an iPhone and an iPod,” said Chris Przybyszewski, CEO of Resolute Games & Apps, the Memphis company that created the Elvis iPhone app. “He would have loved the portability and would have been one of the biggest iPhone users ever.”
Elvis Presley (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977) was an American singer, actor, musician, cultural icon, and sometimes referred to as “The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” or “The King”.

iLike today is launching new services for artists to connect with their fans. New features include iPhone applications, Twitter, YouTube, and MySpace syndication. Using iLike’s “turnkey system”, musicians will be able to create iLike-branded iPhone apps.
According to PCWorld:
Most of these new features, while useful, are logical additions to increase iLike’s reach into social networks. However, the addition of iLike’s iPhone application tool, the turnkey system, is an interesting development. Instead of creating an umbrella application for users to access all iLike artists in a single application, the music service has instead opted to allow individual artists to create their own iPhone apps under the iLike brand.
With more than 45 million registered users and 300,000 artists, Seattle-based iLike helps people share music recommendations, playlists, and personalized concert alerts. iLike also runs indie music site GarageBand.com.

Now, courtesy of Mophie themselves, we’ve got a Juice Pack Air to give away to one lucky iPhone Buzz reader!

The Juice Pack Air promises to double your iPhone 3G’s runtime, as well as offering the protection of a hard case. Despite that, it’s only 0.75-inches thick, and adds just 20-percent more weight. Check out our review of the Mophie Juice Pack Air here.
To enter, and stand a chance of winning a Juice Pack Air worth $79.99, leave a comment in this post telling us about the time you drained your iPhone 3G’s battery the quickest. If you want more chances to win, we’re also giving them away at SlashGear and PhoneMag.

Reuters today released its Thomson Reuters News Pro app for the iPhone, offering more multimedia features. Since Reuters has also launched the BlackBerry version, but this app has different characteristics for each of the two devices.

The BlackBerry app is more text-centric, while the iPhone places more emphasis on the video and photo features.
According to Chris Ahearn, Thomson Reuters’ president of media, the free iPhone app is targeted to all business professionals, not just financial or specific topics consumers. It’s the reason behind video and photo features’ emphasis for iPhone.

The next-gen iPhone will have an integrated magnetometer (digital compass), allowing the iPhone to recognize which direction users were facing, work in tandem with the smartphone’s GPS and turn-by-turn directions.

The screenshots show that
there’s also a “Kitchen Sink” menu, which is presumably the place for all of the other “not for public consumption” options that are required in these testing stages but not when the device is actually launched.

Wow. The new iPhone is just around the corner? Just a week ago iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 4 released, MacRumors reports that Apple already released iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 5 and a new version of the iTunes 8.2 pre-release to developers.

Today’s release is a bit of a surprise, coming just eight days after the release of the fourth beta when Apple had consistently been releasing beta versions to developers at two-week intervals. With only a month to go until Apple’s sold out Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco where the iPhone OS 3.0 is certain to be a featured topic of discussion, Apple may be increasing the pace of developer releases to begin polishing things for the public showing.

AdWhirl, formerly known as Adrollo and serves 250 million ad impressions of the top 50 Apps in the App Store monthly, revealed the success of some of the top ad-supported iPhone apps.

AdWhirl says that top apps can make $400 to $5,000 per day on ads, averaging an effective CPM (cost per 1,000 impressions) near $2. (That sounds terrible compared to a good Web site, but it’s better than Facebook or MySpace apps.)
