Until I started using an iPhone, I was never a fan of mobile gaming. The graphics were bad and there were no games that really grabbed my interest. Since the iPhone launched I spend a good bit of time playing games on the device.

Handmark has announced a new game for the iPhone called Astraware Casino that is actually more like 11 games in one. The app has 11 of the most popular casino games around in one place for a limited time price of 99 cents.

Back when the original iPhone first launched I bought a case for my phone to keep it from being scratched up. I was beyond mad three weeks later when I took the case off to clean the iPhone and found that the case had caused scratches that I expected it to prevent.

Speck has announced a new line of cases that are hard on the outside and have a soft rubberized coating on the inside to prevent scratches called the CandyShell cases. The case is available in black, blue, purple, white, and pink colors with the cases having a two-tone design.

Two security researchers, Charlie Miller and Collin Mulliner, have discovered a serious security vulnerability on the iPhone and will present their findings later today at the Black Hat convention in Las Vegas.
Meanwhile, they have already demonstrated this flaw in action to CNET’s Elinor Mills before the conference.
Here’s what happened: While I was talking on the phone to Charlie Miller, his partner, Collin Mulliner, sent me a text message from his phone. One minute I’m talking to Miller and the next minute my phone is dead, and this time it’s not AT&T’s fault. After a few seconds it came back to life, but I was not able to make or receive calls until I rebooted.

One of the games that I never really found interesting was marbles. I know some people like the game; it just doesn’t make sense to me. If you are a marble aficionado, a new game app for the iPhone is now available for you.

The app is called Play Marbles and you can even put your face or other images onto the marble. The developer promises that the game is simply to learn and play. While the game is simple, it promises to be challenging as well.

Yes, it’s a logical step for jailbreakers when facing this kind of case. GV Mobile developer Sean Kovacs has ported the Voice client over to Cydia for free –although donations are gladly accepted– following Apple rejection on all Google Voice-enabled applications and Google’s official Google Voice application.
Please note that Google Voice is not a VOIP service. Basically, it’s a service that lets you manage a free phone number that Google gives you. Since the app relies on the Internet connection (3G, EDGE, Wifi, etc), so you still need an actual phone plan.
The GV Mobile features including:

Any fan of comic books or super heroes like Super Man or Spider Man knows the name Stan Lee. Lee created some of the coolest heroes to ever hit the big screen or TV. I spent many a day as a child watching cartoons of Lee’s creations and live action films.

Stan Lee has announced a new and exclusive comic for the iPhone called Stripperella. The sultry super heroine stars in an exclusive four-volume comic book series written by Lee and with art by Anthony Winn.

Despite many other URL shortening services out there, here is another new service on this field: appsto.re. It focuses specifically on iTunes links.
Why use appsto.re URL’s? According to them:
- They contain the name of your app, making people more likely to click.
- They take people straight to iTunes, increasing the chance people will buy your app.
- They are short! So they are easy to share on twitter or where ever.
However, a TechCrunch reader tells us that iPhone apps already have short URLs, e.g. http://itunes.com/apps/scavenge.

Despite there’s an upside for developers, the upcoming Apple tablet computer could have a downside for app developers, Forbes says. The problem? Inconsistency in term of developing app –especially related to the screen size and resolution of these devices.

If Apple rolls out a tablet computer, it could make building applications for its portable devices more complex. That’s because developers–who have built more than 65,000 applications for the iPhone and iPod touch–say one of the big advantages to developing apps for these devices is consistency.

Google recently released Google Latitude for iPhone and iPod touch as a web application and currently supports iPhone/iPod Touch OS 3.0 or above. For the time being, it’s only available in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Our Latitude web app provides all the core functionality you might expect: you can see the location of your friends on a map and modify your privacy settings so that you control how your location is shared and with whom. In fact, if my friends and colleagues back in London haven’t yet noticed my absence, they’ll see in Latitude that I’m currently vacationing on the beach in Australia. Hi guys, remember me!?
